As a person who uses it daily for personal use and strom tracking, it's okay at its accuracy. It can't predict the future to a tee, but it's certainly better than AccuWeather. In a nutshell, it's okay to give you somewhat of an idea of future weather conditions.

Ventusky serves as a platform for visualizing meteorological data. The main provider of meteorological data for Ventusky is DWD and NOAA. However, the radar layers (marked as EURAD, USRAD and WORAD) have several other country-specific providers, which are summarized below.

In the Ventusky application, you will find data from the American model, GFS, the German ICON, the Canadian GEM and several regional models (ICON EU, ICON DE, NBM, HRRR). Moreover, some special models are available (SILAM for air quality, RTOFS for sea currents and sea temperature or OVATION for aurora forecast).

We always acquire the latest data. As a rule, the numerical models are updated every 6 hours, but the precise interval depends on the particular model. You can find information on the latest data update by clicking the “i” icon in the bottom left corner next to information on the model used.

The name itself, Ventusky, is a combination of two words. The first is the Latin word, Ventus, means wind, and the second is the English word, Sky. You can pronounced it as Ven-tu-sky.

The two most well-known weather models are the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) model and the National Weather Service's Global Forecast System (GFS) model. They are commonly referred to as the European and American models, respectively.

In other ways, VentuSky has fewer options than Windy, with only 10 overlays available, including the mainstays of temperature, windspeed and rainfall. There also isn't the ability to set email alerts, and you can't view webcam pictures or forecasted weather markers, as on Windy.
