The Best Pair Of Legs In The Business

PRE-ORDER. Capitalising on his remarkable success in On The Buses, Reg Varney plays third-rate holiday camp entertainer 'Sherry' Sheridan, dreaming of stardom in this 1974 film. Convinced he just needs that one big break to propel himself to super-stardom, Sherry seems comically unaware that his family is crumbling around him. Can he save both his marriage and career? Details

Parents

PRE-ORDER. This Sky1 sitcom was a bit of a damp squib. Starring Sally Phillips and Tom Conti, it saw the well-off Popes forced to leave London and move in with wife-and-mother Jenny's parents in Kettering. Penned by the creators of The Good Life, Feet First takes a humorous look at the trials and tribulations of a gifted young footballer who is plucked from obscurity and plunged into the heady, somewhat bewildering world of First Division football. This single-series, six-episode Thames sitcom was first (and probably last) seen on ITV in 1979. Details

Bad Education

PRE-ORDER. Bizarrely, the popularity and high laugh-count of this BBC Three sitcom seemed to take the corporation by surprise when it was broadcast late last Summer. Following its recommission, the DVD release was swiftly postponed until this year - and with Series 2 expected to launch in August, viewers will shortly have a chance to relive the very funny Series 1 on DVD. Guide Spotlight
Laura Solon: Talking And Not Talking

We usually feature a television programme or film in this section, but did you know The British Comedy Guide also provides details of radio series? As long as they're British comedies, of course. One such relatively recent title is this 2007 - 2009 series starring Laura Solon (who you may recognise as a Polish coffee shop worker from TV sketch show ). Packed with brilliant and barmy ideas, not to mention a top cast of co-stars and writers that includes Ben Willbond, Katherine Parkinson and Rosie Cavaliero, Talking And Not Talking ran for a sadly-short three series, but there were very few 'misses' to be heard. The first two series are now available to buy on CD or download, if you'd like to revisit or try the series out. It's one of our recent favourites. Guide
